There are numerous scenarios in life in which a person may be required to provide proof of identity prior to purchasing an item. A driver’s license is a common type of item individuals might use to fulfill such requirements, but what happens if someone stands accused of using someone else’s license to carry out a purchase? A woman in Florida is facing identity theft charges after allegedly using another person’s driver’s license to purchase a motor vehicle.

Reports of Identity theft

According to reports, the investigation into allegations of identity theft began when a woman called a local dealership about the recent purchase of a motor vehicle. She informed the dealership that she had not purchased the vehicle in question. While investigating the matter, authorities claim to have uncovered evidence that another woman had carried out the purchase.

Authorities assert that another woman arrived at the dealership with a driver’s license that belonged to the other party and used this id to buy the vehicle. Reports indicate that the woman has been arrested and is currently facing numerous charges in relation to the investigation. This includes allegations of identity theft, false representation, and unlawful use of identification.
